Dick Miller - "Triumph"
Selected by Dick Miller, a sportswriter for the Indianapolis Times and noted
football official. As early as 1924, he named an all-state team. He selected a mythical state champion
from 1927 until 1938,
often by pairing two top teams in an unofficial state title game.
This selection was sanctioned
by the Indiana High School Athletic
Association, not as an official state championship, but as the "Most Outstanding
Team." The recipient was awarded the Indianapolis Times Trophy
"Triumph."
