1981 Indiana High School Football Season

Beginning in 1981, the IHSAA advanced the top four teams from each district to the postseason instead of the top two. This was done without extending the season: the final regular season game was played on a Wednesday, the sectional was played the following Tuesday and the Regional on a Saturday.
